I have been working on my rough draft for the research paper aspect, however that is not what I will be showing. I want to put forth my advertisement proposals that I have created. All of these are 8.5"x11" for the standard piece of paper I can print for fliers to go around. I want to maintain a level of secrecy so I do not expose too much of my project for everyone (outside of NMD 499).
I still need a lot of input on this project. I want to shy away from performance poetry, due to an incessant nagging I have experienced from myself. I feel that it would not be appropriate in a New Media capstone. What do people feel would be an appropriate medium for getting my information out? Here are a few of the ideas I've had:
-Flash Mob
-Random notes placed all over the campus
-Creating pop-ups for websites
-A radio show that somehow feeds off of the listeners
-An interactive trivia program
-A video installation
-Podcast
-Calculator programs
-Some sort of website
-A piece of art work [(in stylistic regards to BridA) please forgive me if I butchered their name]
-Some form of an internet virus that contains information in regards to research
-SPAM!
-Placing band-aids/medical supplies on plants, trees, bushes, etc with facts written on them.
-Creating an installation with old oil containers (or other similar items)
With the second to last idea I jotted down, I am led to wonder why I feel so attached to technological mediums for this presentation. Due to the nature of the project, I feel I should be supporting the anti-industrial mindset, and going for a more natural approach.
Here are 7 potential ideas for the advertisements I mentioned:

That is all for my first milestone.
